This Month's Topic:

Scripture Reference: Romans 12:1-2

Discussion Objective:

Opening

What is a hypocrite? Have you felt hypocritical at times as it relates to walking out your faith in Christ? Explain

V?-?: Comments and/or follow up questions

Paul is referencing the previous chapters that were set up for how one come to know Christ as savior - these 2 verses are a major pivot in the message Paul is relaying from God. So let's discuss key words in an effort to understand what we need to take away from this.

  1. I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

V1: "appeal", "present", "sacrifice"

Is an oversight or ill perceived action hypocritical if you are actively trying to not to conform to worldly things? Why or Why Not?

2. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

V2: What do you think he meant when he says "that by testing you may discern what is the will of God"?
