Last week we discussed how this is a pivotal section of Romans from emphasizing the need for salvation to how to live out a Christlike life.

What is humility? Why do you think it is underemphasized?

Romans 12:3 - ESV

3. For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

What are some practical examples of how you have been served by fellow Chrsitians?

Romans 12:4-5 - ESV

4. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function,
5. so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

I want us to stay at a high level for verses 6 & 7 and not get into individual gift meanings, rather we discuss the general context of the verses. How does understanding these verses help you in the area of humility?

6. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith;
7. if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching;

Pary about and consider the underlying thoughts you have when serving others - are you doing with humility and submission to God or in an attempt to impress others?
