This Month's Topic:
Scripture Reference: Hebrews 1:1-4
Discussion Objective:
Hebrews is the only NT book of the bible that the author is unknown. It includes OT figures and shows how they believed by faith, even though Christ had not come yet. Jesus is shown as divine. He has a role higher than the angels and created a clear path to the throne room of God. Hebrews was written around the time Nero was feeding Christians to lions and other disturbing things. It was a letter of hope for those considering giving up the faith under the pressure of societal influences
When I ask "who is Jesus?" what comes to mind?
- Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets,
- but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.
V1-2: Why do you think the author of Hebrews starts the way he does in verse 1? How does God speak today?
How do you see the radiance of the glory of God day-to-day?
3a He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power.
