This Month's Topic: Church Planting
Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:1-18
Discussion Objective: Plant foundational seeds of discipleship and obdience for church planting through exploring God's Strength in His Solid Foundation.
Of the utmost importance in the individual Christian's life is reliance upon God. The foundation upon which everything else is to be built upon in the Christian life is God's strength. Belief in His word and participation in His kingdom work follow the understanding that it is God, in His infinite wisdom and power, that gives and sustains life. If a person simply looks at God as a distant being, they are missing on of the most important aspects of life ~ the ability to enjoy and grow in a true relationship with Christ.
Individuals must look to God as a person, not a being, a Father, not a fault finder; a Savior, not a prison guard; a friend, not a bully. He walked on the earth as a person and walks with anyone who asks. As a Father, He unconditionally loves each person no matter what they do. Rather than keep people under His thumb with rules, true freedom can only be found through salvation. He is with each individual as a friend to help them through any situation and has never abandoned anyone.
God's solid foundation is rooted in His strength. Strength that is sufficient to overcome any situation that any of His creation may encounter. Psalm 139 paints a wonderful picture of God's strength. Below we will focus on three aspects of God's strength: His Omniscience, Omnipresence, and Omnipotence
His Omnisience
The attribute by which God perfectly and eternally knows all things that can be known – past, present, and future. God knows how to best attain His desired ends.
- O LORD, you have searched me and known me!
- You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.
- You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.
- Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.
- You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.
- Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

His Omnipresence
The attribute of God by virtue of which He fills the universe in all its parts and is present everywhere at once. Not a part, but the whole of God is present in every place. This is true of all three members of the Trinity.
7. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?
8. If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
9. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10. even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.
11. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,”
12. even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you.

His Omnipotence
The attribute of God that describes His ability to do whatever He wills. God's will is limited by His nature, and He therefore cannot do anything contrary to His nature as God, such as to ignore sin, to sin, or to do something absurd or self-contradictory. God is not controlled by His power but has complete control over it: otherwise He would not be a free being
13. For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
14. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
15. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
16. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
17. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!
18. If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.
